About Boom Cellar

BoomCellar tracks wine stocks — the publicly listed vineyards, Champagne houses and wine producers of 13 countries — and publishes the indices that put one number on them. Wine as an asset class usually means bottles, funds or Liv-ex price indices; this is the other route: owning the producers themselves.

Published since 2015, and reconstituted in 2026 to the universe and index family below; three indices — WINE, CRU and EAST — sit on one universe and one rule.

The BoomCellar WINE Index — index definition

The BoomCellar WINE Index is a market-capitalisation-weighted composite of 22 listed wine producers.

CRU (boutique) and EAST (Asia-Pacific) are computed by the same engine on the same base date: CRU admits constituents below €100m in market value, EAST those listed in Asia-Pacific. See CRU and EAST.
