How to invest in Champagne: bottles, or the listed houses

A case of Champagne is wine, worth what the next buyer pays. A share in one of the 3 listed Champagne houses is part of a company, priced every trading day. This is not investment advice.

Bottles and cases

You own the wine. There is no exchange quote: it is worth what a merchant or auction pays, less their cut. Storage, insurance and provenance are yours, and a bottle pays nothing.

Shares in a listed house

A share is a claim on the company — vineyards, cellars, brands, debt — not on any bottle.

Maison Pommery & Associés POMRY.PAEuronext Paris EURH1 ended 30 June 2026. Revenue of €96.2m for the six months, against €109.3m in the prior reported period. The issuer's own comparable-growth figure is measured on a different scope — it excludes Heidsieck and interprofessional sales — so the two are not the same measure and are not netted together here. First Heidsieck shipments and half-year seasonality both sit inside that figure. It is recorded as the issuer states it and is not set against another house, because the scopes differ. Champagne inside larger groups

Several large Champagne brands belong to diversified groups. LVMH (MC.PA) is one; from its filing: Champagne and wines are €3,087m of €80,807m. The whole Wines and Spirits division is 6.6%. Wine is 3.82% of its revenue, so a share in it is mostly exposure to its other businesses.

The index rule is more than 50% of revenue from selling wine. Groups below it are on the coverage page.
